Arakawa River Clean Up (Minami-Sunamachi), August 30, 2020

Arakawa River Clean Up today at Minami-Sunamachi. Seven ecowarriors turned out to collect 104 bags of trash (74 actual bags + roughly equivalent to 30 bags of large trash items). It was really a good result today given the small group, the heat and limited time. I think we got about 75% of the easy-to-get trash while maybe only about 60% of the total trash that was there. As expected the Tokyo Bay breezes made the location several degrees cooler than Tokyo, but we still started in the shade and took a long break in the shade. It was a beautiful say, beautiful scenery, great exercise and a generally enjoyable outing with some nice people.
