It was a SMALL turnout but BIG results today with the Arakawa River clean up at Funabori. Eight volunteers collected 101 bags of trash for another “power event.” Special thanks to Kiyoko Takenaka for leading this event. This was about the 4th or 5th time this year that she has stepped up to lead an event. Mina-san, otsukaresama! 330 more bags are needed to reach 3,000 bags collected for the year and 5 more events in 2022. We can do this!

Tokyo River Friends was founded in early 2017 by members of Jambo International in order to focus on regular monthly clean ups of Tokyo area rivers, which was an expansion of several clean up events per year that Jambo had been doing for two decades as part of its broader environmental activities.
