Eight volunteers turned out for today’s Arakawa River clean up at Funabori and collected 40 bags of trash. It was 1 newcomer and 7 regular members, who have really made up the backbone of TRF events over the past year or so. We beat out a rain forecast with no rain and wind and clouds made the summer heat bearable.With only a few small hot spots, it was collection of lots of small pieces of trash and a lot of hard work to collect the 40 bags. In doing so, the back side of this section was mostly cleaned, and we’ll be pushing in toward the middle next week. In the final photo you can last week’s collection and this week’s collection as the city had not yet picked it up.
