Ten volunteers turned out for today’s Arakawa River clean up at Funabori and collected 142 bags of trash (107 actual bags and roughly equivalent of 35 bags on the large items). This was really a huge volume of trash for only 10 people. The area was very dirty but the trash was spread out a bit and under cut grass, so that participants really had to work to gather it. Minasan otsukaresama desu. Some more bags and large items were added after the group picture. I am generally conservative on estimating the number of bags the large items would fit into for counting purposes, but there really was a huge quantity of large item today, including about 12 tires.
