Ten volunteers collected 20 bags of trash (19 actual bags and about 1 bag in large items) at yesterday’s Arakawa River clean up event near the Tozai Line Bridge facing Tokyo Bay. All the low hanging fruit was gone. Participants were collecting small pieces of trash and pulling a lot of things out of the mud. Having run out of time with the river reads growing back, we didn’t get it all, but we got most of it. With as many as 40 events on this area over the past 5 years, we will basically leave it alone for a few years and focus on other areas.
