Six volunteers collected 41 bags of trash at Sunday’s Arakawa River clean up at Funabori. It was our 12th effort at this spot, so the pickings are getting slimmer. 9 or 10 bags came from the dirty angle where Takayama-san collected the trash into a pile several weeks ago and about 5 bags came from trash that had been dumped on our our previous pile but needed to be sorted, so it was only about 25 bags from the target spot. The sun and heat limited the collection with frequent breaks in the shade where we could enjoy the strong breezes coming in off Tokyo Bay. Then, the big news of the day was the debut of my new smartphone camera. Overall it was a strong effort by a small group. Everyone otsukaresama!
