Ten volunteers turned out for today’s Arakawa River clean up event at Funabori and collected 40 bags of trash (28 actual bags plus roughly 12 bags equivalent on the large items.) The weather was beautiful and couldn’t have been better. We started at the target area where a lot of trash was small pieces and then we got run out of that area by a rising tide, so we moved to Plan B to clean the infamous dirty angle. Fortunately someone had been tossing trash up onto the concrete for each pick up. I think some of the fishermen in that area, who know we clean regularly, had done this.
