Edogawa River clean up Jan 17, 2026
It was a big day on the Edogawa today with 36 volunteers collecting 60 bags of trash (48 actual bags + equivalent of 12 bags for the large items). Not all the collected bags and sodai gomi, which were spread out, had been moved into place during the main group photo. For the second year in a row TRF hosted a group of 31 students and administrators from the American School of Dammam in Saudi Arabia who were performing community service during a student trip to Japan. Together with 5 regular TRF members, the large group enabled us to spread out and clean the entire target area. I was surprised at the volume of trash that had accumulated their since our last cleaning of the area about 9 months ago. The weather was wonderful for January, and the students really made a great effort, which produced a large result. Mina-san otsukaresama desu!
