Sixteen volunteers collected 76 bags of trash at today’s Arakawa River clean event at Nishi Kasai. It was good weather and a good tide, and members essentially did a residual cleaning of a previously cleaned area. As the trash was sparse and in smaller pieces, it took time to fill bags but they gradually added up along with a few big finds. Then about 1/3 of today’s total came from the dirty angle which is also in need a cleaning again and slated for later this month. Meanwhile a tanuki appeared out of the bushes. He posed for a few photos in exchange for some snacks that I happened to have in my bag.
